WWII Memorial and Veteran

WWII Memorial and Veteran's Memorial Plaza

Fall River, Massachusetts

Fall River's tribute to its WWII veterans is an imposing replica of the "Iwo Jima Memorial" which stands near the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. This project was initiated with a donation in 1996 to the City of Fall River of a 2/3rds size plaster model of artist Felix de Weldon's famous sculpture.

The Bradford Associates design team monitored the repair of the plaster model and the casting of the new bronze sculpture, then pepared designs for its Bicentennial Park location and installation. The sculpture is the dramatic focus of the Bicentennial Park and terminus of the river walk as well as an adjacent Memorial Plaza honoring Fall River's veterans.
